That's how she rolls...

She's on the move! Not sure I'm ready for this. How does one even go about " baby proofing"? My girl is growing up!

We had an action packed Memorial Day weekend!  We went to the lake on Saturday to spend time with the Dutton clan. Then we crossed to the other side of the lake to spend time with Nana and Papa Don Rowland. Somehow we managed to play disc golf (well Forest did anyways) with friends, go to the village twice, teach Sunday School, and celebrate two birthdays! Thankful that my mom and father-in-law added another candle to the cake.

From the homefront

Since being home, I seem to have more time. Yes, yes, some days I seem to have no time ( I mean I do have someone home with me who can be very demanding), but on most days I have the opportunity to pause and reflect. I've thought more and more about how I can use my time wisely. It can be easy to focus on the isolation, the fussiness, the house being clean, working out, a million things really.  At church, we are going through Ephesians and this verse really struck me:

"Look then carefully how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time because the days are evil".
Ephesians 5:15-16

Staying Cool

I didn't really know what to call this post.  Anyways, happy belated Mother's Day!  Hope all of you mamas out there had an enjoyable day!  Forest (and Addison:) made mine very special.  I mentioned to Forest that we need to celebrate at least 4 times a year...maybe every month!  I don't think I've ever truly appreciated how wonderful my own mom is until I had a baby of my own.  It is certainly hard work BUT the most rewarding and joyful work I've experienced.  I was overwhelmed with thanksgiving to God for my Addison JOY.

As a Redish Head...

I concur with this article!  It's true!

I'm hoping this little brunette will have a tad more melanin than her mama.

As for me, it's summer and I need some SPF 100 asap!

I am NOT Boo Radley

Hello all! Hasn't the weather been lovely?  We've tried to enjoy it and attempt some outings with our little one.  It definitely has not been easy!  She tends to enjoy being home...pretty much all of the time...well let's be honest...ALL OF THE TIME...much to her mothers dismay!  And unlike dear old Boo Radley, I do not feel called to the life of a shut-in.  But the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, is teaching me to enjoy precious time at home with my 3 month old.  I can already see how fast children really do grow.
