15 months!

Can you believe it!? I can't. This time last year she was only 3 1/2 months old. Now she is running and saying words like a champ. Her favorites right now are "booing" like a cow, baby, ball, block, howling like a wolf, wa-hoo-hooing like a Minnesota loon (we are in to animal sounds), mo (more), day-doo (thank you), and saying no-no (of course).

Happy Thursday!

These pictures are from a month ago or so but I thought they were too cute (says the mama:).

Long time gone...March/April Update

Hello all! Sorry we've been MIA for the last month. As most of you know, we spent a little time in South Carolina! We loved it. Visiting friends, family, being around familiar sights, sounds (aka Southern accents). It was grand!

Here are a few pics from our time in the "Southern Comfort Zone".
Thank you for those words Mr. Paisley.

Snowshoeing Adventure

Hello from Minnesota! I wanted to share a few photos from our little family excursion this weekend. We ventured out to Quarry Hill Nature Center to try a little snowshoeing. It was a balmy 30 degrees (perfect MN winter weather) and we had a blast. Little mama wasn't a huge fan of the backpack but loved the sled. Maybe we'll try family bobsledding next...kidding:)

They really are just like tennis racquets!

First Words (VIDEO)

Hey from Minnesota! Just wanted to post a quick video of Addison speaking a few words. I think it's cute...even when she says up (more like up, up, up, up, up, up...you get the picture) all the time.

Hope you all can find some time to relax and enjoy today! Take a hint from my girl here...
Happy Thursday!

Daisy

While scanning the Gospel Coalition Blog today, I came across this precious face and a sweet article by her mama. I was reminded again to pause and enjoy my baby.

Chronicles of...Rochester

Hey y'all! I feel the need to really ham up my Southern charm now that I'm a Midwesterner. I had to give my phone number to someone yesterday and I made sure to say fahvvvvvvvvvvve (you know...instead of five). And yes there are three fahvvvvvvvvvvve's in my phone number.

Lately, we've been settling into our new routine. Well this is the first routine we've had in months! I am still without a car so I have a simple, slow paced life (and I'm about to die!!! But I'm learning much about myself, my God, and my ideas of what's important in life).

I'm trying to step back from my to-do's and need-to's and actually enjoy time with my daughter. It's more intentional than I would've imagined. Instead of lamenting over my lack of curtains, drapes, or any other type of window covering, I'm trying to enjoy the glorious view of the snow covered landscape. And, as difficult as it can be sometimes, I'm trying to rest, listen, and pray. Really rest in God's Word. Really listen to what He is teaching me. And really pray for people in my life. Praise God for his grace, because I will fail in all of these areas without it.

Besides that, I'm waiting on the arrival of my sweet niece Mae. Praying for you little girl! AND I'm toting Addison ALL OVER CREATION in a sleigh...well it's really a plastic sled but I like to think that it's a sleigh. And I sort of feel like the White Witch's polar bears when I pull her on it.

Not going to post a pic of me in my winter get-up so Forest it is!

Have a great evening!

Happy First Birthday Addison!

So thankful for one whole year with my precious girl. Definitely not always EASY being a "stay-at-home" (I still kinda stumble and stutter when people ask me what I do...) but its been a privilege. Anyways, I wanted to share a few photos...only a month late! We had a quick birthday celebration on a Tuesday evening with our dear family (all of whom we miss so much now that we've flown north!!). I'll update soon with pics and info about our new little Minnesota life. For now, I hope you enjoy the snapshots of her birthday.

P.S. Don't judge the outfit, we figured we had to add a little flair for the first birthday dress (and zebra leggings, and rhinestone bloomers, and mega headband).
